These intensive courses form an integral part of our high standard learning. Curriculums are carefully prepared to provide an intensive and progressive language development depending on the level.
Attention is paid equally to fluency, comprehension and extensive exploration of the newly introduced topics. Daily homework and revision are incorporated to reinforce the learning process. Our advanced courses include introduction to the culture, history and geography of Spain. Maximum number of students in a class is 6.
Certificated of completion upon request.
Lesson time and place: Monday - Friday mornings at 09:00 at in the Hotel Puerto Azul, Calle El Lomo, 24 in 38400 Puerto de la Cruz. Class starts every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month.
About the School:
Founded since 1993, Sothis has been providing quality Spanish Language classes to foreigners living on the island as well as travellers interested in learning the language during their holidays. From day one, Sothis places great emphasis on spoken language. In addition to grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary exercises, students are exposed to Spanish in its colloquial form; providing them an insight into the social and historical structure of the country. This enhances the ability of students in using Spanish in everyday situations such as visiting the cafés, grocery stores or immerse themselves in one of the many festivals in the Canary Islands.
Sothis uses drawings, pictures and audible learning materials to establish direct relationship with the new vocabulary, making language learning much more fun. Depending on the current state of knowledge/ interest of the students in the group, we also include various topic discussions, reports, newspaper articles etc in our lessons. Usually Sothis uses its own text books "¡Vale! I or II" as the basis of teaching. They offer comprehensive step by step approach to Spanish learning, with easy to follow explanations, examples and exercises.
There are two locations where you can learn Spanish with Sothis in Puerto de la Cruz. The first school is situated in La Paz - a beautiful and quiet part of the town which offers fantastic views of the sea. There are shops, restaurants, hotels and apartment complexes within immediate vicinity of the school. There are 3 bright classrooms available and of course, one cannot do without a cup delicious, or three!
You will also have a choice to learn Spanish with Sothis in down town of Puerto de la Cruz. The lessons are held in Hotel Puerto Azul, which is located right in the old quarter of the town, less a minute walk from Plaza del Charco. There is a cozy pedestrian in front of the hotel with many restaurants and cafes along it. There’s also wonderful view of Puerto’s old town and Mount Teide from the roof terrace of the hotel. The local beaches are only 10 minutes walk away.

If your chosen course has insufficient number of participants, we guarantee that the course will be carried out at no extra charge. We will in this case, however, reduce the teaching hours*. This is because private lessons are much more intense, allowing you to achieve the objectives a bigger group would have attained in lesser time. Maximum number of students in a class is 6.
* If there are only 1-2 students in the class, the hours will be reduced by 25%.
