Description:
Atlantik Surf of Puerto de la Cruz is located in the northern and greener part of Tenerife, right by the ocean and well known for its popular nightlife. The school offers surf and bodyboard lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. Everyone is welcome to learn regardless of age and background. This mobile surf school is open all year round, meaning you can get started or improve your surfing technique any time of the year as you will be driven all over the island to catch the best waves. Atlantik Surf is the official school of the Canarian Surfing Federation, Cantabria Surfing Federation and Spain Surfing Federation.
SURF COURSES:
The maximum size of the group (any course) is kept at 8 students so you receive sufficient attention and guidance from the qualified instructors. A personalised approach is employed in order to ensure the correct use of skills and techniques correctly and help you improve them quickly. You will also receive theory lessons and video analysis twice a week.
The surf lessons are 3 hours each day, Mon - Fri. In between the lessons you will have a break to regain strength. We believe more than 3.5 hours of lessons a day would be a waste of your money, as your body would not have any strength left for new exercise and it will impede your stamina on the following day. Your goals are achieved through personalised and intensive coaching, rather than the unnecessary extra hours.
ATLANTIK SURF'S EQUIPMENT:
Beginners and intermediate levels will be taught using soft boards (brands like "Victory" and "Madness". “Bic” surfboards are also available for the more advanced learners. Our boards come in all shapes and sizes - the crew will help you choose the most suitable board. Good quality wetsuits (3.2mm) are provided to keep you warm especially after long hours in the water. The Bodyboards, flippers, as well as reef booties used, are all of professional standard.
SURF LOCATIONS:
Usually, the lessons are held at beaches of Puerto de la Cruz and nearby such Playa Martiánez, Playa Jardín, El Socorro, Montaña Pelada, Los Patos, El Ancón, Las Americas, Taganana and Benijos. The mobile surf school is equipped with surf vans which will take you all over the island to catch the best waves every day.
:: Beginner-Course:
The aim of this course is to get your familiar and standing on the surfboard as soon as possible. Atlantik Surf allows you to achieve this through its own teaching method, developed through many years of experience. The lessons are mainly practical but you will be also taught about tides, currents, wave forming, surf equipment and other interesting information about this sport.
:: Intermediate-Course:
This course is suitable for those who have had taken part in other surf course and would like to progress further with their skills and techniques. The aim is to get to catch the unbroken waves (aka the green waves), surfing them as well as attempting your first turns. You will benefit from the small group size through personalised coaching and technique correction.
:: Bodyboard course:
The aim of this course is for the learner to board the unbroken waves (green waves) sidewards and attempting the first moves. Bodyboarding tends to be learned faster, as laying on board allows you to locate your locus point much easier.

Important notes:
- Please allow time for travel to/ from the lesson location, which often depends on the weather and wave conditions. Please take this into account if you have other travel plans on that day.
