Description:
Before you are able to join the many exciting guided dive excursions in Tenerife or anywhere in the world, you need to at least be Open Water qualified. One of the world’s most popular, PADI’s 5 days Open Water Course consists of a healthy mix of theory and practice. Discover new underwater adventures snorkelers would never reach.
You will learn the basics needed to become a certified diver such as safety and how to use your scuba gears (Buoyancy Control Device, regulator, submersible pressure gauge etc). This will followed by a confined water dive in the pool before real open water dives to put all you have learned into practice. To many, the very first dive in the sea is an unforgettable one!
Under the constant supervision of a qualified PADI instructor, you'll be coached step by step into the underwater world - a fascinating world with its own laws. Upon completion, you will be PADI Open Water certificate and issued a PADI card. This scuba diving course takes 5 days to complete, and you will be allowed an 18m dive towards the end of it.
Prerequisite:
- 10 years or older
- A recent fit-to-dive medical certificate
Course Content:
- 5 hours theory
- 1 dive in the pool
- 4 dives in the Atlantic seas
The School:
El Cardumen scuba diving centre is based in Puerto de la Cruz, the green and lush northern part of Tenerife. It boasts a multimedia classroom with DVD, sound system and access to the Internet; updated safety facilities; diving scooters, and their own dive boats. They also do equipment repair, cylinder service and equipment rental. It has a team of experienced and professional instructors who are excited to share the beautiful underwater world with you.
The centre offers PADI courses for all levels. The most popular one being the Open Water Dive, Advanced and Adventure Course in which you will learn new skills while exploring the unique and versatile underwater volcanic landscapes and sea creatures. Some of the speciality modules offered are: wreck dive, night dive, deep dive, peak performance buoyancy, underwater navigation, underwater photography etc.
El Cardumen also run daily dive trips in various dive spots in the north and south of the island.
Some of the dive sites are: La Catedral, La Chimenea, Baja de los Realejos, Las Aclas, El Tubo, El Arco, Masca, Barranco Seco, Atlantida, Punta Blanca, Baja Alcala, Cueva de los Cerebros, Cueva del Palm Mar, El Condesito, Los Chucos,La Falla, Mountaña Amarilla, Las Eras, and Radazul.
