La Caldera is one of the largest of its kind in the world, and being surrounded by a couple of still active volcanoes - this isn’t an ordinary bike trip. From lush vegetation to lunar landscapes, as well as difference in climate, this mountain bike ride will test your fitness but award you with great variety. Many downhill specialists come here for the speedy descent!
The levels are individually selectable, from trail to track. The ‘so-called’ lava formation is the goal of this challenging "King" tour.
Starting point is the observation point and paragliding take-off site, La Corona, at 770 metres high. From here you can enjoy fantastic views of the La Orotava valley before cycling uphill past the impressive cultivation terraces, into a fragrant eucalyptus and laurel forest.
We will cross several climatic and vegetation zones, right up to the Cañadas moonscape, with the majestic Teide nearby.At the chapel, beneath La Fortaleza (at 2100m), we have the opportunity to climb the Monte Rojo (Red Mountain) on foot.
After a nice snack break, we get ready for the rapid downhill ride with gradients of up to 25%, your disc brake will glow in red! (-:

Important notes:
- If possible, please bring the following: change of clothes, arm and leg warmers (winter time), hat, gloves, wind/ rain jacket and pants (short), shoe covers, fleece vest. Also, do bring snacks and drinking water (1.5l).
