Festivals, Restaurants, Nightlife and Shopping in Costa Teguise
Restaurants
You can find all types of cuisine in the resort from Indian, Chinese, English, Irish, Polish and traditional Spanish/ Canarian cuisine. There is a choice of over 100 eating establishments if you are travelling with fussy eaters.
Restaurante El Navarro
This restaurants has an extensive selection of very tasty meals. From meat and fish dishes to pastas and gourmet burgers, there are something for everyone. The prices are a little on the high side but is definitely good value for money for the quality and deliciousness. Save some room for the irresistible desserts. Advanced booking is recommended.

La Vaca Loca Restaurant
This small and laid-back restaurant serves delicious steak, pizza and tapas with a great selection of wines. Meat dishes here are of good cut, well seasoned and juicy.

Casa Luis
If you would like to sample Spanish/ Canarian food, then do not miss Casa Luis. The restaurant serves tapas, paella and a variety of delicious dishes. Choose from a selection of dishes to share with your companion(s), or the great value Menu del Dia (Menu of the Day), where you can have a starter, main, drink, coffee and dessert for under €8.

Nightlife
The main shopping areas of Las Cucharas and Puerto Marinero have many shops, restaurants and bars. English, Irish and Scottish bars predominate with happy hours and live football screenings. Although the nightlife is quite upbeat, if you are a real party goer then make a short trip to Puerto del Carmen to enjoy numerous large clubs selling cheap drinks and playing electro dance tunes.
Festivals
The Spanish love a good party and Costa Teguise hosts a number of fiestas throughout the year. The summer months of June, July and August see various activities and events being held in this resort town.
Dia de los Reyes
This festival on January 6th is celebrated across the island and literally translates to the Three Holy Kings. They celebrate the eve of the epiphany in which three wise men brought gifts to the baby Jesus.
Carnaval
Every February/ March, Costa Teguise celebrates Carnival in a spectacular and colourful way. There are costume parades, drummers, music artists, and various leisure activities to keep the young and old entertained. Everyone comes dressed up in fancy outfits and there are no short of singing, dancing and drinking until early hours in the morning. For a traditional mixCastilianDiabletes (Devils) style of Carnival celebration, head to Teguise which is only 16km away.
Fiesta de San Juan
The festival on June 23rd is similar to bonfire night in the UK, and in celebration of the beginning of summer. People light fireworks and bonfires throughout the region.
Día de San Ginés
Beginning in the third week in August, this ten day festival is in homage to the patron saint of Arrecife and Lanzarote island. It includes a fairground and a fireworks display.
Shopping
Being a purpose built resort, Costa Teguise has a number of shops to meet your retail therapy needs. Most of these shops can be found along the promenade of Playa de las Cucharas beach, with the bustling Las Cucharas shopping mall being the focal point of the area. There is a reasonably sized craft market selling typical tourist trinkets in Pueblo Marinero on Friday evenings. There's a large Sunday morning market in Teguise, about 20 minutes drive away.
Centro Comercial Las Cucharas
This shopping complex boasts a variety of shops selling name brands, jewellery, and duty-free electronic goods. There are also shops selling crafts and souvenir items for friends and family at home. The shopping complex also houses cafés, restaurants and pubs for your dining and entertainment needs.
Teguise Sunday market
Teguise is around 13km drive away and hosts a Sunday morning market selling a great selection of local products including pottery, materials, art and trinkets. It is recommended you visit this place to find some true treasures rather than line your suitcase with the usual tourist tat on offer in many of the tourist shops on the island. You can book a three hour tour to the market where you will be collected from your hotel in an air conditioned bus for €10 per adult, and €5 per child. Ask your hotel or the local travel agent for further details.
