Description:

The emblematic Roque Nublo is a must-see while visiting Gran Canaria. This guided hike make it possible to visit it as you hike through the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve to witness the amazing west and center landscape of Gran Canaria.

Watch in awe the violent and spectacular terrains along the way, earning its title as "The Petrified Storm" from philosopher Miguel de Unamuno.

Departing El Garañón, the Roque Nublo hiking excursion trails along the border of the “Caldera de Tejeda”. This route was shaped by a series of volcanic eruptions in the area, where you will encounter unique endemic plant species such as the Canarian pine trees.

We will stop by the La Fogalera viewpoint where expansive view of Roque Bentaiga and its surrounding area can be appreciated. On a clear day, we can also see from afar, the majestic Mount Teide from the neighbouring island of Tenerife.

The hiking tour continues with an ascent to the base of Roque Nublo – the star attraction of the hike. Located 1813 metres above sea level, this massive basaltic rock formation is 67 metres tall. It was declared a Natural Monument in 1987, forming part of the protected Rural Park of Nublo. With this being said, your visit to Gran Canaria would not be complete without visiting Roque Nublo.
