This hiking tour is rated Medium 2. The total distance is 9.65 km and takes approximately 4 hours (including breaks) to complete.
We commence our hiking tour from the car park of Cala San Vicente with a steep descent before entering a pine forest where the ruins of an old shepherd’s hut can be seen. We then cross a stream to reach a freshwater creek. As we approach the coast, we will find an isolated esplanade with intriguing moonscape formation - a result of year-round strong winds and waves conditions.
Returning inland, we venture back into the forest and hike up a hill through winding tracks. There are plenty of plants to be discovered as we approach an area of cultivation. We then proceed to the cave of Es Cuieram, one of the most important archaeological sites of Ibiza. A large number of intriguing artefacts were dug out during the discovery by a group of archaeologists in the early 1900’s.
Our guide will explain about the caves and its exploration before we make our final descent back to Cala San Vicente.
