Golf in Tenerife
Tenerife island, dubbed the island of eternal springs, is the perfect all-year playground for the golf enthusiasts. Whether you are here here for a golf-only vacation, or would like to have a round of the game while exploring the beautiful landscapes of Tenerife, there are brilliant golf courses scattered around the island.
Abama Golf
Created by Dave Thomas, this exquisite 18-hole championship course is arguably the island’s finest. Be prepared to be inspired by its snaking fairways, lush greens, lakes and palm trees which also host the eminent Abama Open each year. Beginners can practice on its adjoining practice range whilst you can discuss your swing over a drink in its swanky clubhouse. Green fees cost €200 (special discounts for hotel guests) whilst the rental of clubs will set you back €50. As part of the Abama resort, other facilities include a spa and tennis courts.

Buenavista Golf
As one of the few golf clubs situated in the north of the island, this course also has the unrivalled coup of being designed by golf legend Seve Ballesteros. Situated on the northwest tip of the island, the course is so close to the coast that it is common for overzealous players to sky their balls into the Atlantic Ocean. Highlights also include a waterfall that divides holes 9 and 18.
Amongst its other features are a golf school for both pros and beginners and a resplendent clubhouse with panoramic views of the ocean and nearby Teno Rural Park. Green fees cost €76.
