Ever thought about exploring the beautiful landscape and nature of Gran Canaria on a horseback? Then we recommend a horse riding excursion around the El Salobre area. Located about 10km from the bustling Maspalomas/ Playa del Ingles resorts and less than 20 minutes drive away from Puerto Rico, this mountainous area offers a contrasting feel of calmness and an excellent panorama of the vast sand dunes of the island.
Route information and safety briefing will be given prior to starting your horse riding journey. Participants will also be assigned to the appropriate groups and horses based on their riding skills and experience. So don’t worry if haven’t ridden a horse before or already an expert - you will have a good time.
Safety is our upmost priority and therefore your full attention is required to its safety measures. For this reason and your enjoyment, each group will be kept to a maximum of 10 people, with maximum rider’s weight of 90kg and a minimum age of 2 years old. Child between the ages of 2 and 4 will ride with an adult on the same horse free of charge. You are required to wear a helmet throughout the excursion.
You will ride through mountains dirt trails, rocky terrain and cactus fields. Enjoy trotting or just at a leisure pace taking in the breathtaking views and nature around you. Our guides will be more than happy to share his/ her knowledge of the area and pointing out the interesting features of landscape, floras and faunas.
Horse riding is made possible year-round thanks to mild weather conditions of the island. There is a bistro on site offering drinks and snacks.

*For 2 hours tour only: transfer from/to Puerto de Mogan, Taurito, Puerto Rico and Arguineguin (zone 2) available at an extra fee
*For the rest of the island, for free pick up, please meet at an agreed time at the bus stop of FARO DE MASPALOMAS

Important notes:
- Minimum age to join is 2 years old. Child between the age of 2 and 4 will ride with an adult on the same horse FREE of charge.
- Maximum weight of rider: 90kg.
- In the event of severe weather, we will provide a refund should alternative scheduling is not possible.
- Due to limited availability, iHoppers will confirm your reservation upon checking availability. Should your preferred date is not available (and no suitable alternatives dates available), iHoppers will provide a full refund of deposit paid.
