This is a short and sweet tour to visit Teguise and its renowned Sunday Market. Once a glorious capital city of Lanzarote island, Teguise (also known as La Villa) is an excellent example of the traditional village of the island. Boasting old buildings, with some dating back to the 17th century, Teguise provides a welcoming contrast to the purpose-built holiday resorts on the island. Look out for the carved wooden and stone doors around the town.
The Sunday Teguise Market is a popular affair amongst the locals and tourists. On this day, Teguise's cobbled streets are lined with stalls selling all types of goods including but not limited to souvenirs, ceramics, handbags, paintings, decorative items, clothes, shoes and much more. Browse and haggle like a pro as you shop for something to take home with you.
If shopping is not your thing, you can sit back and relax with a beverage in one of the cafes and watch the crowd. The square (center of the town) with its imposing church will be filled with people, and with music and folklore groups performing.
You will have around 3 hours to spend in Teguise and its market before meet us back at the bus to be returned to your initial pickup point.
