With pleasant climate throughout the year and high possibility of wind over 55% of the time (except for Sep - Oct which is a little less), El Medano is the mecca for kitesurfers.
After 3 days of kite surfing lesson, you will have good grasp of the fundamental elements kitesurfing and do it on your own. Each day consist of 3 hours of kitesurf lessons each.
Day 1. On the first day, you will learn the safety rules on how to launch and how to land a kite on the nice sandy El Médano beach. We will use learner kite for these exercises. This will take a few hours. After you have learned these basics, meaning you are able to control the bar, we will switch to the conventional kite and changing the length of the
lines as you progress. The equipment we use is always up to date.
Day 2. On the second day, you practice in the water where your instructor will teach you how to perform "body drag". You will be communicating via a walkie talkies so he can explain on what to do, at any given time.
Day 3. "Water start" is the the aim on your third day. This is a necessary skill to kitesurf properly. You will be standing on the board and start to "get" and enjoy this awesome sport. After this 9-hour lesson you will be able to kitesurf on your own and on your way to becoming a good kite surfer.
Our instructors are IKO and FEV certified. They speak English, German, Italian and Spanish so that you can receive instructions in your language. The material and equipment used for teaching is of first class and reliable with huge selection to suit different sea and weather conditions.
For learners who are keen to have an one-to-one kitesurf lesson with the instructor, there is an option for private lesson when you book. For group lesson, there is a minimum requirement of two to start a group.
Tips: If you have limited time in Tenerife, it is advisable to book the lesson earlier on during your holiday then later, this is so that if the weather is less ideal, it can be rescheduled to next day or the day after.
Please bring: water, sun protection, towel and snacks (there is a cafe right next to the school).
