Our journey begins at the Pjazza Santu Pietru, situated in Gharb, which is a beautiful and calm neighbourhood in Gozo island. Pjazza Santu Pietru is renowned for its many gorgeous dwellings, surrounded by lush greenery with remarkable views, right in the middle of nature. We'll show you how to ride a segway properly, and as soon as you're confident, we will make our way to the outskirts of Gharb and after about 20 minutes gliding peacefully through the plush farmlands, we reach the chapter of San Dimitri Chapel. This beautiful 15th century chapel on the western side of Gozo island is dedicatedly built to honor St Demetrius. We will catch a breath and visit this place of worship and its surroundings.
We continue our tour on segways heading towards Wied il-Mielah, an extraordinary valley coated with beautiful greenery and vegetation, and some of the most beautiful flowers around. It is one of the more popular walking routes in Gozo island, due to its natural beauty, and the island's second and less-explored 'window'.
We will stop here so that you can take photo shots of the scenery, before walking down the steps to see one of the highlights of Gozo: the natural stone window next to the sea. We will then get back on our segways and glide gracefully to the refurbished Gharb pjazza. In this pjazza there is a very old sundial - an interesting artifact to observe as it’s how our ancestors measured time. You can check the time of day by looking at the shadow on the sundial, and this makes for another great photo opportunity in Gozo island. Thereafter, we move on to look at Pjazza St Pietru, however there is still more to come! Before ending the tour, we will watch the breathtaking sunset over Dwejra, stretching far above the majestic cliffs in Triq San Pietru.
