From Teguise, we commence our jeep safari to Guatiza for its tunera plantations. Here you will be introduced to Cochinilla (cochineal) insect and its various benefits.
We will continue our safari tour to Mala, where the oldest cactus garden of the island can be found. We will stop for a quick photo (without leaving the car). A short drive away are the villages of Arrieta and Punta Mujeres. From there, we continue towards the direction of two of the best works of Cesar Manrique - Jameos del Agua and La Cueve de los Verdes. We will visit the one with majority votes. Your tour price includes an entrance ticket to one of these two attractions.
Driving along the coast, we will find the Caletón Blanco beach find white sand and crystal clear waters. We will make a stop here. Not far away is Órzola - a quaint fishing village with white houses and a pleasant beach. Those who wish to eat or drink something will have the opportunity to do so here.
The tour continues on to Yé, famed for its Mirador del Rio viewpoint. Another extraordinary work of Cesar Manrique. From its huge balcony (Balcón del Mar), you will enjoy an expansive panoramic over the northern coastline as well as the small island group - with La Graciosa being the prominent one.
More sceneries to impress you as we drive to the Mirador de Guinate, where you will be explained the different layers of rocks the area possesses. Mirador de los Helechos is another place with fantastic views overlooking Haría and the famous “valley of the thousand palms” and the neighbouring hamlets. Here we will sample some Canarian products.
Now, the tour will review the other facet of Lanzarote. As we drive towards Haria, the dry and harsh landscapes soon turned into lush green terrain with view of plantations from the neighbouring towns of Máguez, Gallo and Guinate dotting scenery. Agricultural aside, Haria is also known for its rich architectural heritage.
Once again we head off-road towards the valleys before concluding our trip in Teguise.
