Things to do in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Museums and art galleries aside, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the place to be for theatre show and concerts. Winter time especially, witnesses many world class symphony orchestra performances. Although this capital city of Tenerife isn’t exactly the place for outdoor activities, it lays just on the edge of the oldest ecological part of the island - Anaga. From here it’s a short drive to several stunning hiking routes in this lush regions. There are also boat trips and water taxi from the nearby Puerto Chico and San Andrés to explore the Anaga coastline.
For those who are keen on hiking up Teide, there are tours with pick up from Santa Cruz. The city is also handy to drive to several paragliding launching spots on the island.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife also has the advantage of being half an hour drive away from Puerto de la Cruz where many activities like paragliding, hiking, jeep tours etc takes place. While the beach resorts the such of Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje which offer boat trips, diving, quad tours, and many more, is about an hour drive away.

This multi-purpose built stadium is mainly used to host football matches. It stands proudly in the capital city and holds around 24,000 people, making it the largest football stadium in the Canary Islands. It is the home ground of the team Club Deportivo Tenerife who play in Spain’s second division
