If you only have a day to discover Lanzarote, this Grand Tour of Lanzarote should be on your list of things to do. This full-day tour offers an excellent overview of our beautiful volcanic island.
The Lanzarote Grand Tour is made up of 2 smaller tours - the North Tour and the South Tour - to give you the complete experience of our island. If you are pressed for time, you can book one of these shorter tours individually.
The Lanzarote Grand Tour begins with El Golfo being our first destination. A rare hydro-volcanism phenomenon - El Golfo is the result of the volcanic activity that happens at low altitude levels. As time went by and the sea passes through the crater, it forms a beautiful black beach which contrasts the emerald green lake named La Laguna de los Clicos. Let's see if you can spot any Olivina stones here.
Not far away is the Los Hervideros where you can observe the effects of the mighty nature forces of the volcano and erosions - creating an unusually rugged coastline. Next, we head to Janubio beach where next to it lies a massive 440,000 square meters of salt plains. These colorful arrays of salt "pockets" together with the black volcanic beach and the blue Atlantic create a picture-worthy landscape. Your guide will be sharing interesting stories and history of the salt industry of the island.
We then drive towards Timanfaya National Park, nicknamed "home of the Fire". Geothermal demonstrations will be given to show just how powerful the heat emitted from below the surface we are standing. There will be time to check out the "natural oven" where food is cooked by the force of mature nature. We will then hop on the park's coach, which will take us deep into the heart of Timanfaya. In this protected area, we will observe the impressive volcanos, crater, and lava fields.
We will make a stop at a typical village for lunch break (lunch is optional). Next up is La Geria region, famed for its unique volcanic landscape and peculiar semi-circled stone walls encircling the vines. Learn the history and the process of vino making; there will also be the opportunity to sample some. Driving north and pass the Monumento al Campesino, we continue through Teguise, once the capital of Lanzarote up till 1852. By now we are not far from the highest peak of the island. At 671m high, Peñas del Chache offers a fantastic view over the northeast coast and Haría - Valley of the Thousand Palms.
Our last stop is the fascinating Jameos del Agua, a rare habitat to the blind albino crabs. The area features subterranean gardens and impressive auditorium designed by the beloved Canarian artist Cesar Manrique. There's also a Volcanic museum where you can learn about the volcano activity and history of the island.
Guests will then be brought back to the initial pickup point at around 18:30.

NOTE: It is possible to join an optional Camel Ride during the tour, but only possible for guests from Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen only.
