Description:
“Traces of Volcano” is a hiking tour into the timeless taverns of nature’s mightiest delights in Anaga Mountains. We will meander into the mysterious forests of wax myrtle, tree heath and other typical laurel forest species and past a wonderland full of deep ravines and imposing rocks. Visit some of the oldest volcanoes in Tenerife on this medium level hiking tour and appreciate the pristine landscape in the region. The volcanic soil around the area is ideal for vine cultivation, we will taste some high quality traditional wine of Taganana and learn more about viticulture in traditional wine cellar.
We start our journey from Plaza de Afur (altitude 250m) and find our way down a canyon onto the beach of Tamadiste. From there we follow the coastal trail through the small hamlet of El Chorro to reach Taganana, the oldest village in the Anaga Mountains. We end the tour at Roque Benjio, which has one of the most scenic sandy beaches in Tenerife.
