The hiking excursion begins with a pickup from your hotel in the north or south of Tenerife. Hop on our private van, and we will drive towards Santiago del Teide. Your knowledgeable guide will be sharing interesting facts and stories about the area and answering any questions you might have.
Our starting point of the hike is the historical La Casona del Patio hotel, a remarkable sight on its own. Your guide will hand out water and snacks, give a short briefing and together we will decide on the hiking route of the day. There are a number of trails, all equally fascinating and showcases the untouched outdoor of Tenerife.
You will find yourself walking along fertile vineyards, almonds and fig trees. Almonds, in particular, are in abundance and adorning the lush valley of Santiago del Teide with its beautiful pink and white flowers in springtime.
We will make a few stops during the hike to take in the stunning scenery and the surrounding landscapes. Depending on the trail we have chosen, the tour will take 2-3 hours to complete, at moderate hiking pace.
We continue walking past the small agricultural village of Valle de Arriba before arriving at the El Calvario de Los Baldíos. It is a memorial set up which denotes the last volcanic eruption on the island in 1909. You will discover the impressive nature, history and geology of Tenerife from your expert guide.
We will conclude the circular hike at the La Casona del Patio. You will be taken to the nearby restaurant La Casa Vieja for a well-deserved 3-course lunch in its 17th-century rural building. Enjoy a tasty Canarian menu consisting of oven-baked chicken, papas arrugadas (Canarian potatoes), mojo sauces, pumpkin soup, bread and quesillo dessert - a type of Canarian flan. Wine and soft drinks are included.

Important notes:
- This tour is suitable for family with children. Minimum age to join the tour is 10 years old.
- Minimum age to drink alcohol is 18.
- Please wear proper hiking shoes and bring an extra layer or jacket in case it gets chilly.
- Approximate pickup time is 08:00 - 09:00 am and drop off 15:00 - 15:30, depending on where you stay. Sun cream and sunglasses are essential.
- From south Tenerife, it takes about 30 minutes to drive to La Casona del Patio, from north Tenerife the drive would be about 1 hour.
