Description:
Visit Finca Las Margaritas and experience an extraordinary agricultural and educational field trip wandering around one of the largest banana plantations in Tenerife.
The farm has a large area of 825 hectares, and it produces and exports around 26,000 tons of bananas yearly. It has 2 cultivated varieties of Canarian banana – the great dwarf and the thick palm or small dwarf (Dwarf Cavendish variety). A small percentage of the land also has fruit trees like mango, papaya, and avocado.
The self-guided tours are available from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The regular package includes free tasting and a gift from the farm. Guided tours are also offered every Wednesday from 9:45am to 5:45pm, slots depending on availability. Each guided tour includes a workshop, free tasting, and a gift from the farm too.
