For cycling enthusiasts, this is a perfect tour combining island holiday with your favourite sport. Discover on a road bike the many stunning volcanic landscapes, amazing sceneries, beautiful architectures and warm hospitality Tenerife island has to offer.
The routes are designed to cover challenging altitudes and inclinations on various landscapes to make your tour interesting. The Teide volcano, quaint villages in the north, La Orotava valley, black sand beaches, and banana plantations are some of the features you can expect to see on this trip.
This 7 nights package offers 6 daily routes of intermediate to advanced level, suitable for regular and professional cyclists. Self guided in nature, you get to decide when to commence your tour, what time to start your daily cycling routine, as well as riding at your own pace. Being independent also means you get to stop anytime you like to take in the beautiful scenery of Tenerife island, or simply have a quick cortado coffee break in one of the local cafeterias.

Daily cycling programme:
Day 1: Welcome! Airport pick up and transfer to hotel. Detailed briefing of tour will be given. Depending on your arrival time, we recommend a short test ride to the neighbouring fishing village, which is 5km away. Immerse yourself in the local ambience, taste some fresh seafood and get use to your new bike. Any adjustment to the bike will be made after your ride.
Day 2: This is your first full day on Tenerife! We suggest a ride along the southern coast of Tenerife. Finishing at a protected natural area where you will get to marvel at some volcanic features of the island.
Day 3: A challenging route today where you will cycle between the altitude range of 600 and 1100 m in the north of Tenerife. This part of the island is much greener than in the south and boasts breathtaking mountain sceneries. Practice your technical descending skills on this route full of sharp turns and unexpected bends.
Day 4: After exploring part of the south island, we recommend to take it easy for the day in anticipating tomorrow’s big challenge. Enjoy the range of facilities the hotel has to offer or relax on a sandy beach. Alternatively, there are plenty of activities to do in the south of Tenerife such as jet ski, quad safari, catamaran cruise, and etc.
Day 5: Big challenge today! Cycle across to the northern side of Tenerife via El Teide volcano, highest mountain of Spain at 3,718 m. After reaching an altitude of 2,350 m, you will descent through the stunningly-lush La Orotava valley and its traditional houses. Finishing line is in a charming tourist town of Puerto de la Cruz, where you will be staying at the hotel of the same name.
Day 6: Today we propose a ride west of Puerto de la Cruz to explore some quaint Canarian towns of Icod de los Vinos and Garachico. The latter almost completely destroyed by the volcano eruption in the 1706 and today, one can still see houses partly covered by lava debris here. If you are up for it, ride to the corner-end of this island with rugged landscapes for some intense rubber-burning fun - recommended only for the adrenaline seeking cyclists (and experienced, of course).
Day 7: On your last day, ride through La Laguna - the UNESCO’s world heritage site. This beautiful cultural town with its well-preserve Canarian architecture is also currently the university town of Tenerife. On your way back to the south, you will ride pass a couple of charming fishing villages with fantastic local ambience.
