Beaches in El Médano
Playa El Médano
Playa El Médano is Tenerife’s largest natural beach. The beach begins in the centre of the village between the Hotel El Médano and the promenade. This stretch of sandy beach is popular with families, with a hive of activities. It is just a few steps away from the Plaza de Principe de Asturia, which boasts a variety of cafes and a large children’s play park.
Playa La Tejita
Playa La Tejita is located beyond the sand dunes towards Mountain Roja. On the far side, one cove is a nudist beach but if you continue along you will reach a stretch of relatively uncluttered white sand. This section of the sand benefits from a small beach bar, where you can enjoy a cool beer and soak up some rays.
Playa La Pelada
If you head toward the most eastern beach, you will find Playa La Pelada. Access to this nudist beach is slightly more difficult than Playa La Tejita. You have to pick your steps carefully through the rocks, so wear practical footwear! This is an excellent spot for snorkelling enthusiasts.
Playa El Cabezo
The eastern side of the resort is where you will find the strongest waves. This is the mecca for champion wind and kite surfers alike.
