Surely you have read a lot from your guide books about the cave houses in the Chinamada village, nestled within the lush Anaga Mountains. It is a cave village which is still inhabited today. The ancestors of our hiking guide (the Gregorio family) actually originate from this area, there’s no better hiking company to take you around this area than them! There are many interesting stories to be told during the hike.
In this fairy easy hiking trip, you get to witness the beautiful Anaga area, charaterised by meters-high Erica Arborea (tree heath) and laurel forests. There are plenty of good viewpoints leading up to the cave village. And the best part is, you get to be a guest of our local family friend Valentino in his cave house! With magnificent views of the steep coastline in sight, we will have a sumptuous picnic while listening to old songs played by Valentino with his timple - a traditional plucked string mini guitar-like instrument.
