Sights and attractions in Puerto del Carmen

Being the oldest purpose-built resort in Lanzarote, there aren’t much historical or cultural sights to be seen in Puerto del Carmen. However, the older part of town by the small harbour El Varadero still retains some of the fishing village and Canarian charms.

Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen (church)

Built in a typical Spanish ecclesiastic style, the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen sits in harbour of the old town. The Anglican congregation that attend are part of the parish of Saint Laurence in Lanzarote. They hold regular Sunday services in English and visitors are more than welcome to attend.
