Festivals, Restaurants, Nightlife and Shopping in Playa Blanca
Festivals:
Apart from the usual celebrations such as Easter and Christmas, Carnival and Fiesta del Carmen are two of the much celebrated festivals in Playa Blanca.
Carnival
Carnival is celebrated throughout the Canary Islands in late February to March. Various activities and costume parades can be enjoyed in Playa Blanca during this time.
Fiesta del Carmen
In honouring the sea patron saint, possession is held in the month of July in Playa Blanca around the town’s church. This festival is also celebrated in other fishing villages of Lanzarote.
Restaurants:
Many restaurants offering local and international cuisines line the seafront of Playa Blanca. A number of good one can also be found dotting the town center and Marina Rubicón. The difficult part would be deciding which one to go for.
El Mano Casa de Comida
Located in the Marina Rubicón area right beside the water with view of the Marina, this pleasant Spanish restaurant offers fresh seafood and meat dishes such as lobsters, paella, suckling pigs and steaks.

Plaice in the Sun
For those who had enough of local food and would like a piece of greasy naughtiness, head to Plaice in the Sun in Central Comercial Papagayo for the award-winning fish, home made chips and mushy peas. Cold beer and wines available.

Nightlife:
Although not as “happening” as Puerto del Carmen, there are still many places in Playa Blanca for nice live music, karaoke, and some dancing, particularly in the weekends. Shopping centers the likes of Centro Comercial Papagayo and Centro Comercial Punta Limones boasts many entertainment establishments. Things don’t really kick off until mid night here, so pace yourself, have a nice lengthy dinner and some cocktails beforehand.
Marea Terraza Lounge Bar
This chill out cocktail bar is famed for its chill out ambience and delicious cocktails. Head there for a afternoon coffee or light lunch with excellent views of the sea. Shopping
Marina Rubicón
If you love market or are looking for some souvenirs to take home with you, there’s a market held twice a week at the shore-side of Marina Rubicón. Good selections of products such as local handicrafts, wines, jewelry and gifts can be found there. Walking from Playa Blanca or Playa Dorada, head east via the Avenida Maritima promenade. Journey takes about 15 minutes.
