Beaches in Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is blessed with a series of good beaches, which is the main reason why people holiday here. The beaches vary from having white fine sand, thick volcanic black sand and natural lava pebbles. Many of the hotels and apartahotels here enjoy close proximity to the beach. These beaches vary from having white fine sand, thick volcanic black sand to natural lava pebbles. All with different characters and environments, the beaches in the sequence of Playa de las Charcos, Playa de las Cucharas, Playa del Jablillo and Playa Bastián are linked by a pleasant seafront promenade.
Playa de las Cucharas
Playas de las Cucharas is about 600m long golden sandy beach with clear blue waters and probably the most appealing (and most crowded) in the resort. This is a great spot for windsurfing and other water sports. It is also the hot spot for the annual Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) windsurfing world cup. The beach is equipped with disabled access, life guards, shops, and sport equipment rental, and a dive centre. The beach promenade is also pleasant for a morning or evening stroll. Less windy part of the beach can be found towards Hotel Gran Melia Salinas.
Playa Bastián
Though not as long as Playa de las Cucharas, this fine dark sand beach with palm trees is wide and less crowded - meaning more towel space. It is located next to the Playa del Jablillo and stretches along the promenade of Avenida de Los Cocederos. It is accessible by bus.
Playa de los Charcos (beach)
This small golden sand beach is pleasant and not crowded. It is also nice spot to practise windsurf. Youngsters can be seen playing volleyball or football on the beach. Playa de los Charcos is located north of the main beach Playa de las Cucharas.
Playa del Jablillo (beach)
Playa El Jablillo is a small swimming bay with beautiful fine white sand and turquoise waters. Unlike the neighbouring beaches, it is protected from the wind, making it calm and pleasant for families with young children. There beach is encircled by a small promenade adorned with a couple of miniature windmills. A dive centre can be spotted as you access the beach via Avenida del Jablillo.
