Diving in La Gomera
La Gomera, the second smallest of the Canary Islands, has a unique charm and is a popular destination for divers. Diving in La Gomera is so popular because of the clear water and the wealth of tropical fish species in the Atlantic Ocean.
The warm, crystal clear water are a welcoming setting for the volcanic rock formations below. Steep rock faces, caves, cliffs and formations made out of basalt, can be seen under the sea. Added to which, many different kinds of schooling fish live in the sea and make an already magical waterscape truly unforgettable. While diving in La Gomera there are plenty of beautiful fish to see, including trumpet fish, colourful parrot fish, neon damsel fish, scorpion fish and even dolphins. The south and the west of the island are especially good for diving, as the weaker currents afford beginners an ideal environment for learning diving. For those whose appetites for diving are not satisfied in daylight, night dives are also available. The cost of diving trips is very reasonable, ranging between 25 and 40 Euros per dive, depending on the time of the day and whether a boat is needed to access the diving location. La Gomera is perfect for diving trips for beginners and experts alike.
