Sights and attractions in San Agustín

San Agustín is a purpose built resort without much history or antique buildings to marvel at. The main attractions here are the sandy beaches. The closest you can get of history and culture would be the nearby Mundo Aborigen, which showcases how life used to be for the aborigines of the island.

There are plenty of interesting sights in the Vegueta area of La Palma and the 15th century village of Agüimes up north. Alternatively, the pretty Puerto de Mogán on the southwest coast is also worth seeing. You can either drive or catch the public buses.

Mundo Aborigen

The Mundo Aborigen is a theme park entirely devoted to the Guanche way of life. Entrants follow a trail of life sized models performing day to day activities. Visitors can see butchers preparing goats, doctors performing surgeries and even convicts being sentenced. Although not in San Agustín, the Mundo Aborigen is located very close to the area. Definitely worth the short trip!
