Beaches in San Agustín

Playa del San Agustín beachThe Playa de San Agustín beach nestles towards the eastern edge of the more well-known Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas strip. As a result, it is far less populated and overcrowded and the atmosphere is generally more relaxed. This beach is approximately 670 metres long and contains broad, dark sand. There are also not many waves here, so it is perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Sun loungers and parasols can be hired on this beach.
Playa de Las Burras beach
On the west of Playa de San Agustín is the smaller beach of Playa de las Burras. It is around 300 metres long and also covered with slightly dark but fine sand. This is another wave protected area, which is why it is so popular with families and elderlies. There is also a water sports centre on this beach. You can also rent parasol and sun lounger here.
If you keep walking westward passing a narrow strip of beach, you will find yourself arriving at the popular Playa del Inglés.
Playa de Águila beach
Playa de Águila is located on the east side of San Agustín beach. This beach is This beach is home to the famous Bjoern Dunkerbeck Windsurfing Centre, a multiple world champion windsurfer. It is a fairly large beach which includes both stony and fine sand areas. Playa de Aguila is a pretty part of Gran Canaria and it is hardly ever overcrowded too!
