Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the largest city in the Canary Islands and has a lot of amazing things to offer. Hop off at the Playa de las canteras – where swimming, diving, surfing, football and other beach/water sports can be found on the golden sands and crystal waters. Visit Museo Elder, the Museum of Science and Technology, or wander through Casa Museo León y Castillo, which commemorates the island's history. Gran Canaria is known for being home to several famous writers and artists, and their works are displayed at a number of central museums, including the Casa Museo Pérez Galdós, Gran Canaria's Museo Néstor, and the Casa Museo de Tomás Morales. Don’t miss to see Pueblo Canario Museum – a complex of traditionally built island houses that are laid out to form a typical Canarian village with gates, an atrium and towers. There’s also the historic district of Vegueta, arguably one of the most beautiful towns in Spain where you will find plenty of things to do and see. You may also wish to spend an evening at the Auditorio Alfredo Krauss, a concert hall overlooking the sea, located right on Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s northern beach. Go to Paseo de la Cornisa for a stroll along the water’s edge and stunning scenery. Or you may wish to spend your Euros at the large shopping area of Las Arenas.
From the open-top double-decker bus, you can see the city’s famous sights and landmarks – highlighting the major things to do in the city so that you can hop-on and off at your own convenience. City tours operate from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and bus comes every 30 minutes. A 24-hour or 48-hour ticket gives you access to 11 tour stops, with audio commentary in 8 different languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, and Swedish.
