Description:
Our sightseeing tour begins as we drive towards the direction of Caldera de Bandama, where we get to marvel at the biggest volcano crater on the island. 1 km wide and 200m deep, this volcanic cauldron belongs to the protected landscape of Gran Canaria and offers impressive views of the surrounding areas. The lush volcanic soil in this area also encourages vine cultivation.
We will drive pass Santa Brígita, an important area of wine cultivation on Gran Canaria. We then stop by to visit the local market (Saturday only) selling local fresh produce in the town of Vega de San Mateo. We continue our journey uphill to reach the Pico de las Nieves (Snowy Peak). This summit of Gran Canaria is 1,959 metres high and offers a magnificent view of the Roque Nublo and its surrounding area. On a clear day, the vista stretches as far as Tenerife's high peaks.
This scenic tour offers a number of stops at several viewpoints where you can admire the Roque Nublo and Bentayga. Roque Nublo is a 65 metres high stone formation that was created as aresult of volcanic activity and erosion.
Our tour will end with a visit to Teror, a charming town that houses the Basilica of Our Lady the Virgen del Pino. Lunch is not included.
