There are plenty of things to do in Corralejo for the active and sport inclined. The marina of Corralejo is the departure point for many boat trips and catamaran excursions. Surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, diving, biking and the theme park are just a few of the activities on offer in the area. For the adventurous ones, quad bike and buggy tours are fun ways to explore the volcanic landscapes and stunning coastline with turquoise lagoons of the island. Alternatively, you can walk along the promenade or laze away a long sunny day on the beach.

Surfing and boogyboarding

Corralejo with its mild climate means year round surfing, especially during autumn/ winter period, when the Atlantic swells intensify and the rest of the Europe is freezing cold. There are many excellent surf spots on the north coast of Corralejo. If you have your own transport (and a sturdy one!), a drive along the dirt road connecting the northern coastline between Corralejo and El Cotillo offers access to some of the best breaks in Fuerteventura island. These spots can be very isolated therefore it is advisable that you are well- equipped and use common sense when it comes to safety. Wind and kite surfing

The name of Fuerteventura is literally translated as 'strong wind', not surprising it is a mecca for the wind and kite surfers. The coastline along the Corralejo Natural Park, boasts not just thick fine white dunes, but also consistent wind and calm water turquoise water majority of the year (March - November). For safety and maximum enjoyment, there are designated zones for kite and wind surfing activities. Many also venture along the northern coastline between Corralejo and El Cotillo for its excellent wind conditions. Do be well-equipped and use common sense when it comes to safety as the area on this dirt route is very isolated.

There are many wind and kite surf centres offering courses, rental and other services such as transportation, accommodation and rescue in Corralejo. Some can be located in the town centre and some by the wind and kite surf hot spots (but not along the northern coastline).

Flag Beach Windsurf Center
The flag beach is a windsurf and kitesurf centre located towards the south of Corralejo beach. It offers windsurf hire and the opportunity to surf and bodyboard. Here, you can also take courses for beginners or intermediates.

Str8up Surf School
Owned by an ex-British wind and kitesurfing world champion, Danny Seales, this surf school offers surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and paddlesurfing courses to suit all levels and abilities. Accommodation and airport transfer can also be arranged.

Boat Excursions

There are a variety of boat excursions in the form of mini cruises, class bottom boats and catamarans to choose from in Corralejo. These excursion varies in duration, itinerary and inclusions (food and drinks) to suit your preference. Most of these trips offer a stop-over at the beautiful Isla de Lobos where you can enjoy a swim in its clear water or wonder around exploring the landscape and bird species the 4km square island has to offer.
