Immerse yourself in the wonderful nature of Madeira island through canyoning (also known as Canyoneering). It is an exciting and thrilling outdoor activity where you get to combine hiking, climbing, abseiling, jumping and more.
This Canyoning adventure level 2 is ideal for those who had done the activity before and would like something more. It is also intended for clients who are in good physical condition and would like to canyoning a bit more challenging and longer. Two I.P.D.J. certified guides will be assigned to carry out the canyoning activities and to provide safety briefing and techniques required for successful completion of the activity. A group is kept at a maximum of 8 persons while larger group (i.e.:30, 40 or more), 2 guides will be assigned to every 10 participants.
This canyoning activity takes place at Ribeira do Lageado. It is located at the upper side of the Rabaçal at an altitude of about 1500m. Participants will be required to abseil (maximum height 25 metres), jumping into natural water ponds and sliding down rocks. For the jump, the maximum height is 12 metres (optional jump).
We make our way back along the Alecrim's Levada where we can observe the upper area of Rabaçal.
Our experienced and certified guides speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. The canyoning activity takes about 4 hours, please allow 6-7 hours in total including transfer and preparation time.
When making a booking, be sure to provide full name and date of birth for insurance purposes. Please also state your height, weight and shoe size so we can arrange for suitable wetsuit and boots.
