Description:
The Discover Windsurfing for youth is suitable for juniors age between 10 to 16 years. Compared to the adult course, this windsurfing course will be little less in theory and more fun. Students will be introduced to the basics of getting on water and sailing the board across the wind and back. Mellieha Bay is one of the best sites to learn windsurfing in Malta. Its calm bay with waist deep waters makes it suitable for beginners, young children and senior to learn this water sport.
Course objective: By the end of the course, students will be able to windsurf in light winds to a chosen point and return to where they started. Those that have reached a certain level of competency will receive a certificate. You will learn:
• Understand how winds work
• Balance on a board
• get to know your equipment
• Set up equipment and how to use it
• Windsurf in a straight line
• Steer the board
• Sail back to where you started
After this course, you can progress to Intermediate Windsurf package (Non-Planning) to enhance your windsurfing skills and to windsurf out on the sea.
Course duration: 3 x half days (around 9 hours in total)
Prerequisites:This course is designed for for complete junior beginners from the age 10-16.
Things you’ll need: All you need to bring are some old shoes you don’t mind getting wet, sunblock, towel, water and swimwear. Wetsuit, buoyancy aid and equipment rental is included. We sell wet shoes, sun block and more if you forget your stuff or fancy getting a memoir of you fun time with us!
Languages: English and Italian.

- Windsurfing started package for junior: 3 x half days (total 9 hours)
- All windsurf equipment, wetsuit, tuition, buoyancy aid
- Safety boat cover is available for all the duration of our lessons
- Use of shower, parking, cafe onsite

- Pick up points on the island (return not included)
