Diving is one of the sports that has a superb influence on someone's sense of body, as well as psychological make-up. And this is particularly true for persons with disability.From strengthening one's directional abilities, muscles and breathing to an increase of one's own abilities and the believe in those abilities, sense of accomplishments can be achieved with diving, more so than almost any other sport. An example is the the completely changed of freedom of movement under water for wheelchair users.
For those interested, a diverse programme is carried out under the guidance and care of professionally trained diving instructors. You will be in good and safe hands, as the diving instructors are trained in accordance with the guidelines of both the IDDA (International Disabled Divers Association) and the IAHD (International Association of Handicapped Divers).
Every course takes place on an one-to-one basis to allow the diving instructor to give time and attention to the personal needs of the individual. Moreover, the guest house, immediately opposite the diving school, has two rooms that are adjusted for less-abled persons with a bath and sufficient space. Next to the wheelchair friendly rooms, the building is also wheelchair friendly.
The mentioned prices are "starting prices", which means that they can vary, depending on the type and severity of disability and the number of diving instructors needed.
IAHD CONFINED OPEN WATER DIVER - starts from Euro 340,-
This is the introduction to the underwater world. Students will be taught the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge for diving in shallow waters. In the process, all course units of an Open Water Diving course are carried out.
NOTE: This certificate is for persons who want to experience the joy of diving in swimmable shallow waters with good visibility. It is not for persons who have ambitions to dive in open waters.
IAHD OPEN WATER DIVER - Euro 340,-
This course teaches the basic knowledge and elementary skills needed for diving in open waters. To obtain this certificate, the student has to pass theoretical and practical examinations. The diver receives, apart from the certificate, depending on the level of independence and capabilities (for safety reasons) the permission to dive along with other divers in a group.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age is 12 years old
- A valid, recent diving fitness certificate or written confirmation from a physician.
IAHD ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER - Euro 219,-
In this Advanced Open Water Diver course, participants will learn new diving skills. The course focuses mainly on the practical application of diving skills (less on theory). To complete the IAHS ADvanced OPen Water Diver certification, participants are required to have logged at least five open water dives. There are no compulsory decompression dives required. Working with the diving instructor, a personal programme is put together for each participant.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age is 12 years old.
- The diver must hold the "IAHD OPEN WATER DIVER" certificate
- A valid, recent diving fitness certificate or written confirmation from a physician.
