Protected by geographical indication in the EU, only fruits pressed, distilled, aged and bottled in Hungary and 4 other provinces in Austria can be labeled Pálinka. Pálinka can be made from a variety of fruits, the popular ones are apricots, cherries, plums, and apples. There's even a saying in Hungary - anything you can use to make jam can also be turned into Palinka.
Inside the museum, there are impressive exhibition and interactive displays where you will learn the history of Palinka in Hungary and around the world through. Located in the heart of Budapest, the museum's mission is to make Palinka known to the world.
