Description:
***During the winter season we will visit Máriabesnyő instead of Lázár Horse park.***
Join us on a guided walking tour in Gödöllő, a small town rich in culture and history, which is only about 30km from the center of Budapest city. Guests will be pickup around 30 minutes before the tour from their hotel before driving to Gödöllő.
Our first attraction is the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, once the former residence of Queen Elisabeth (nicknamed Sisi). Also known as "The Hungarian Versailles", this magnificent baroque-style palace still maintains some of its authentic furnishings, especially those in its baroque theatre.
Next is the horse-ranch of the famous Lázár Brothers - the World Champions of coach-driving. Situated amidst the pristine natural reserve near Gödöllő, this beloved equestrian park exudes a great mix of rural and modern ambiance. As a warm welcome, you will get to taste a piece of the homemade 'pogácsa' and a shot of 'pálinka' (small round savory cake and typical Hungarian fruit brandy). Then it is time to enjoy 'csikós' - a horse theatre show where you will get to be a part of the Hungarian horsemen's traditions. After the show, there will be an opportunity to check out the Hall of the World Champions and the minizoo consisting of traditional farm animals.
We will conclude our tour with a horse carriage ride before returning you to Budapest.
