Description:
Join us on a guided romance and history walking tour in Gödöllő, a small town rich in culture and history which is only about 30km from the center of Budapest city. Guests will be pickup around 30 minutes before the tour from their hotel before driving to Gödöllő.
Our first attraction is the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, the second-largest baroque-style palace in the world. It was once the former residence of Queen Elisabeth (nicknamed Sisi) and Francis Joseph (Habsburg Emperor & Hungarian King 1867- 1916). Also known as "The Hungarian Versailles", this magnificent palace still maintains some of its authentic furnishings. hindsight
The interior visit of the Museum and walking through the garden of the Chateau allows us a glimpse into the Austro-Hungarian Empire era. Hear stories and get hindsight into the secrets and private life of the royal couple - the mystery doors, hidden rooms, and their lovers.
You will have the opportunity for a coffee break (optional, not included). Afterward, the guided walking tour continues with an optional visit to the elegant Royal Waiting Room (a separate building) at Gödöllő railway station or the Elisabeth Park. The park was constructed in 1898 in memory of Queen Sisi.
This tour is in English. German/ French/ Italian/ Spanish/ Russian available upon request.
The tour ends at Budapest city center where you will be returned to your hotel.
