Description:

Join us on a delightful tour inside the Great Market Hall - the biggest and most emblematic market in Budapest.

Meet us in front of the Hard Rock Café on Vörösmarty Square. We will first walk along the Váci street - the fashion street - which leads us towards the market. A concise introduction will be provided by your knowledgeable guide about the history of the Hungarian kitchen before we embark on the wonderful culinary journey of colours, smells and flavours.

Local ambience and mentality can be felt as soon as you stepped into the Great Market Hall. Walkthrough the maze of stalls as your guide tells stories and introduces you to the local custom and market etiquette. You will be brought to the best stalls where friendly vendors proudly showcase their produce.

On this Great Market Hall culinary tour, you will have the opportunity to sample homemade local foods at different stalls in the market. Taste freshly baked scones with a number of Hungarian salamis varieties, from century-old tradition winter salamis which are cured in cold air to the super-spicy varieties. Let's not forget about the appetising naturally-pickled cabbage, chalice, melons and much more. You will also get to taste the original Hungarian Lángos - a type of Indian flatbread typically served with garlic.

Don't miss this deliciously exciting tour when you are in Budapest.
Note: Tasting means sampling food in small amounts, it is not equivalent to a full meal.
