Enjoy a scenic drive to the Danube Bend - a beautiful curve of the Danube river which lies close to the city of Visegrád. On this guided trip, you will visit some of the grandest sights in Hungary. Guests will be pickup around 30 minutes before the tour from their hotel before embarking on this picturesque journey.
As the name of the tour suggests, the highlight of this trip is the Danube curve - one of the most scenic locations along the Danube river. The area is abundant with verdurous hills and vineyards scattered in its historic towns and villages.
Our first stop is the Esztergom Basilica —one of the largest churches in the world. There is an optional visit to the adjacent treasury where a rich ecclesiastical collection of gold and silver objects studded with sparkling jewels can be admired. We then cross the river, which is also the border to the neighboring country of Slovakia to get a stunning view from the other side.
Next is the Visegrád Castle, from which we can enjoy magnificent views of verdant hillsides and the curve of the river. We then head to a local restaurant for a 3-course Hungarian feast for lunch before continuing our journey. We will stop at the Solomon Tower, once the prison of Count Dracula.
We continue the tour to the charming baroque town of Szentendre. Take a stroll on its ancient cobbled streets dotted with craft shops, art galleries, and cafés.
The return to the city of Budapest will be by a riverboat during the summer (June - October, except on Mondays when we travel back from Szentendre by bus). In winter, we will also travel back from Szentendre to Budapest by bus. Guests who do not get to go on a riverboat will receive a compensation day-time Budapest river cruise ticket.
